STUDENTS FROM STRYI GYMNASIUM:
As I am crazy about traveling I always try not to miss any trip I can be a member of and it doesn’t matter for me where to go. But if you want to have a good time, you shouldn’t go on a trip alone. Your friends, classmates and even parents will help you to have a good time during your trip.
The last Tuesday a small group from my class went to Novohrad-Volynskiy. During two weeks before our trip we had a chance to correspond with the pupils from Novohrad-Volynskiy Collegium. These pupils took us to live in their families. As for me this trip was great, but most of all I liked the building of the Collegium. I can’t say that everything else wasn’t so interesting, but this beautiful building has made a great impression on me. It was like my dream school, because everything I had dreamed about was there. The Collegium has all the necessary equipment not only for studying but for feeling comfortable as well. It is the place where you want to study, to wear the uniform, to spend your time. A lot of plants help you to relax during lessons. Everything is done for students and for teachers to study and to work better. The atmosphere there is so warm and friendly that it’s easier to study.
I think that our trip wasn’t the last one and in the future we shall travel somewhere again, because such trips are not only very interesting and exciting but they also help pupils to get familiar with the way people live in different parts of the country. And I hope that in the future our Gymnasium will be even much better than Novohrad-Volynskiy Collegium.
Traveling is one of the favorite hobbies almost for every teen. It is an opportunity to learn something new, to meet new people and to communicate with them, to compare the towns they live in, places of interest, traditions, and attitudes to the world.
Only a few days ago on December 28 with a group of my classmates visited Novohrad-Volynskiy and its Collegium and now I have a lot of impressions because this trip was wonderful! We were warmly met and I think it crossed out our tiredness and helped to forget the hard, long and boring journey by train. With the help of our new friends, their families, new teachers and the director of the Collegium we felt as comfortable as at home. But…But Novohrad-Volynskiy is not Stryi. It is bigger in size but not in population. Stryi is famous in the West of Ukraine due to its cooperation with international companies and some new factories.
The northeastern part of Ukraine has its own history so the towns are different and traditions, architecture and language are not the same either. Personally, I like old towns, historical places, so I liked the town I have visited.
We were taken on an excursion to the streets, where many-many years ago Lesya Ukrainka might have walked. But best of all I remember and now I’d like to admit that the river Sluch flows across the town. The wonderful wave of it from the hill amazed me. Stryi is located on the left bank of the swift Stryi River in the picturesque foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, but we can’t see its beauty every day because it flows outside the town. I was taken by friendly and pleasant attitude of Novohrad-Volynskiy inhabitants and our new friends and hope and promise to meet our guests with the same hospitality. All of us are Ukrainians but some differences in culture and traditions of our regions influence us and that’s why we have somewhat different tastes. But I am sure that you’ll like our town just the way we liked yours and will remember this visit for a long time, for the rest of our life looking at the interesting photos.
Five days ago we visited Novohrad-Volynskiy – a town located in the northern part of Ukraine. We had a chance to see wide streets, many shops and, of course, famous landmarks in Novohrad-Volynskiy. On Saturday, when our group had a tour around the town, in the morning our group gathered near the museum of Lesya Ukrainka. This famous poetess with her family lived in this building. We had a chance to see different exhibits, displays, private things; the guide was very pleasant. Besides that, we wrote down a few words about our impressions in a special book and bought a plate with Lesya Ukrainka’s portrait, so this part of our tour was unforgettable and interesting. After that we went for a walk. In the center of the town we had our photo taken next to the monument of Lesya Ukrainka. It was very interesting to see the old castle and the walls over the river Sluch. Many of our impressions are connected with it. Later our group went for a walk along the principal street of the city, named in honor to Taras Shevchenko. After that we strolled around the park and went shopping.
To my mind, we had a very good time, met new friends, communicated with them and also relaxed. Our trip is already in the past but we shall always remember the unforgettable and exciting time we spent with our new friends.
Kate Chergava and me had a chance to be present at an English lesson in the 9th form of the Novograd – Volynskiy Collegium.
… You cannot understand why I called it wonderful and friendly atmosphere was in the class at that time! The lesson was like a very pleasant talk! Our “new” teacher wasn’t so strict as a usual, he was for us as a good new friends and it was really wonderful!
Kate and I entered the classroom and saw some pupils there. We sat down and the teacher came. We began our lesson getting acquainted with each other. My
new friend was Natasha Serbina, a very beautiful and pleasant girl. What surprise it was for me, when we began to talk about our interests she plays the guitar too and interested in the same subjects, as me. It was really wonderful. After that we had a discussion about our schools. In the end, pupils of our grammar school and they, had a chance to ask questions to each other, and of course after the lesson – some photos as memory. Thank you for such a wonderful English lesson. It was really interesting, exciting and out this world!!!!
